Stores, all alike, yet all different. Like many of our retail projects, a
strong image was a key ingredient. Yet the actual stores ranged from 500 square
feet up to 2000, occupied space of radically different configurations, and had
to meet mall design guidelines in 13 different malls from Bellingham to Denver
and everywhere in between, including this store in Everett, Washington. All
were built on very short schedules. |

The design was
comprised of two different "classes" of construction. One was a series of
pre-designed elements, including the display cases, front doors, dressing
rooms, cash counter, etc., which did not vary much from store to store. The
second was the site-specific modifications that adapted the individual space to
accept these elements. The relationship between the two created the dynamic
character we were seeking. |
